【摘要】

The standard model has successfully explained almost all experimental results in particle physics. However, the existence of dark matter, dark energy and baryon asymmetry of the Universe cannot be explained in the standard model. Especially, the discovery of neutrino oscillation provides a direct evidence of new physics beyond the standard model. Various neutrino experiments have been built or under-construction to do a precision measurement of neutrino oscillation parameters, and they also provide new sensitivities to probe new physics in the neutrino sector. In this talk, I will discuss some new physics scenarios in the neutrino sector, which include sterile neutrinos, nonstandard interactions, and violation of Lorentz symmetry, etc. In particular, I will show current data may already imply the existence of new physics, and a baroque neutrino sector can be introduced to make the data compatible with each other.

【报告人简历】

廖佳军, 本科毕业于中国科技大学,在香港科技大学获得硕士学位后赴美国爱荷华州立大学,并于2014年获得博士学位。之后一直在夏威夷大学从事博士后研究。2018年底,通过百人计划加入中山大学,目前担任副教授职务。
